by. Tim Miller

I've read a lot of books and seem a lot of movies over the years but very few grossed me out or pissed me off, like 'really' pissed me off..It would seem that Tim Miller has found the formula that angers the hell out of me to no end. In an angry and racialistic frenzy the pages flip from page one till end of pure hatred. here's the scoop on why I'm rambling on. Four Hispanic college students drive through South Texas on a summer roadtrip. In the middle of nowhere they are stopped by a small town Sheriff who accuses them of being illegal immigrants. Little do they know, he is no sheriff and the town he delivers them to is unlike anything else. The town is hidden in the hills and mountains of Southwest Texas. There, the townspeople live by their own rule in a HILLS HAVE EYES or 2001 MANIACS type town.

When the Sheriff brings the group to town, the residents are more than happy to use them for their personal amusement no matter how sadistic. Each of them goes through their own personal Hell as they are subjected to some of the most horrific atrocities they never knew existed. They learn quickly they have arrived in Hell, Texas. Keep in mind the things the townspeople do aren't your average hazing situations. We have old ass decrepit women forcing men to have sex with each other, a disbarred doctor who creates some TETSUO or MEATBALL MACHINE-esque creatures and rednecks who like to experiment with drills.

This story is outright hateful and instills severe emotion in the reader. Whilst reading this I caught myself arguing with the pages of a book as if it was going to listen. I caught myself on several occasions doing so. I feel that is one of the best aspects of this story; character development and execution. Miller's always penned a good solid story but I feel with Hell, Texas he’s surpassed his knowledge and stepped it up onto that next rung. As previously stated I've seen a lot and read a lot but HELL, TEXAS burned deep inside my soul as I read it.I felt anger. I felt hate. I felt like I wanted to crawl up into the fetal position and wash the filth off in the shower... Unbeknownst to the author he writes a story that is laden full of Asian influences in the brutality aspect and outrageous experimental creatures running around ruling the days!!!!!! What happens to HELL, TEXAS? do they continue on with their roadside barrage of torture and humiliation? read the book to see...
