Remember this little movie that came out a few years ago dealing with a scientist and an alien? ALIEN? Of course you do!!! It’s only the most famous alien-like film of all time. Well, director Tim Cox has taken that format and put his own twist on it.A deranged scientist (John Savage) has broken a century-old code creating a shit-storm and creating deadly spawn of monstrous life forms designed to wreak havoc and on the human race. The creature is that somewhat different than that of the aforementioned. This one is stronger than steel thus making it virtually indestructible. Notice I didn’t say “completely”? Of course this alien has its weak spots such as the soft tissue under the skin and it’s not very mobile in extreme heat or cold.Supposedly these aliens are omnipotent living dormant inside a glacier. But as the mad scientist continues to hatch them, problems begin. This is where we’re introduced to the Swat Team built by Col Winslow (Martin Kove). Appointed to lead this group, due to her predatory behavior, is Talon (Michelle Goh). Upon arrival, they lock themselves in and begin their task of ridding the aliens.Highly comparable to Alien; Alien Lockdown is only comparable to the name. By stating that I’m merely stating that it’s very hard to keep to par with the big dog of Alien Flicks. Alien Lockdown does play out really cool and keeps you in suspense to an extent. Other than the appearance of Savage and Kove the acting was really good, and I felt they did their characters justice. Kudos must go out to them, first and foremost.

 

All in all Alien Lockdown was a fun flick and really cool to watch, Director Tim Cox does a superb job and “does” accomplish the task of making a statement in the creature film genre. As for the creature itself, I’d be a fool to not mention it to you. This was an extremely vital aspect I felt made this film work. The CGI mixed with F/X was top notch and gave that nasty creepy feeling needed.Alien Lockdown is a cool flick and I’d recommend heading over to First Look Media and picking it up.
