BEYOND THE LIMITS

Dir.OLAF ITTENBACH

BEYOND THE LIMITS begins as were told a tale of a rookie journalist named Vivian whos looking for a caretake named Frederick who's the caretaker of the oldest cemetery in an undefined country. She's heard stories of some mysterious secret revolving around the town. She asks him if he'd be interested in doing an interview and the old man begins to tell the story of two "costumers" that are both connected by the same mysterious secret.

As We're then introduced to the powerful gangster Jimmie Levinson. Accusing his former partner Paul Pattuchi of stealing a load of cocaine and send in orders to kill Paul's beloved girlfriend Clarice. Paul is found dead later in a cottage, and Jimmie and his friends and girlfriends are visited during a dinner party by Robert Downing first, whom they seriously commence to some of the absolute, most horrifying ass whippings seen by the naked eye. Then to top of the scenes sundae with a cherry the group are visited by the sadistic Mortimer and his partner Rick seeking the truth about Paul and a suitcase with a mysterious relic.

Now this is where it gets weird. The story does a complete turn and goes off into a completely different story. The second story takes place in the Middle Ages, where the cruel David Deming and his minion Tom Brewster chase the renegade priest James Flynn in the name of the Inquisition but actually trying to force him to reveal the secret of the Eternal Heart to grant immortality.

I'm not sure even where I should begin. The sheer brutality set forth in this film was un fathomable at points. So much I giggled so hard I almost peed myself at the sheer shock of how some of these character were getting messed up.

As most of you are familiar with Olaf Ittenbach then you're quite aware that he hasnt let back on the goreish effects. This movie is very very very violent. It is not as gruesome as Ittenbach's earlier movies "Premutos (1997)" but has really bloody balls....If you're a fan of gore or Ittenbach for that matter you'll absolutely love this otherwise to the average movie fan, not a chance. It's too bloody, too gory, way too violent and the transitioning between two completely different syled films is easily confusable to the novice movie viewer. I presonally loved the fact that they did this , and so well. Ittenbach literally shows you two stories in one , intertwined with each other. Brilliantly done sir! Otherwise this is a must add to any true horror fans collection..
