In Thailand, there are people that believe that if they lay down in a coffin they will cheat death and bring good luck. The bride Sue Wong leaves her fiancé Jack in Hong Kong expecting to heal her lung cancer and she is successful; however Jack dies. The skeptic Chris also participates in the ceremony to help his beloved Mariko. However he panics in the claustrophobic situation and dies for 6 minutes and 42 seconds. They have weird visions of ghosts and strange things happen with them. Sue and Chris visit Professor Thanachai that advised them that they should repeat the burial to resolve their issues and stop the curse. And they don’t, or course! THE COFFIN starts out with great promise. But sadly that’s as far as it goes, the start.

This movie has all the elements to be a fantastic film but just falls flat on its face in the poor direction. The acting was good and they spoke very well English for the most part. Even the cinematography and cut scenes to set up the eerie ass angles of the ghosts crawling atop people in closed coffins but the direction was all over the place. It just plain and simply looks like a 17 year old crack head was behind the camera. Or they had a shitty editor who does not understand the term EDIT. Either way thanks to this film I now have seen a shitty Thai flick. Shame on you. Avoid this hot mess at all costs. AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A 0 RATING SO I HAVE TO GIVE IT A 1
