Two brothers decide to kidnap a wealthy mob boss types’ daughter in hopes of a ransom but soon discover that they may have bitten off a little more then they can chew when they realize the woman they kidnapped is a psycho bitch who isnt going down easily..Holed up inside a remote cottage the two brothers soon find themselves the hostages as she escapes taking along the dimwutted brother with her. Everything goes from bad to worse for all of them when they learn they are being hunted by the local deformity/madman.THE COTTAGE radiates a live action comic vibe that has you snickering at awe from frame one till end frame.Serkis’ attempts at being the badass brother were amusing to watch given the known background on him as well as the zany escapdes protrayed by Reece Shearsmith as the dimwitted brother. As for the acting they all did an excellent job. The majority of the film revolves around their marriage like shenanigans and plays out very nicely suoorted by timely placed blood and decapitations. As previously stated THE COTTAGE estchs like reading a comic and entertains for the full length of the film. I’ve seen this film a few times already since purchase and plan to watch it again soon. It’s a face paced amusement ride. See for yourself.
