THE GIVING OF THINGS COLD & CURSED

Terry M. West

The Giving of Things Cold & Cursed is a refreshingly macabre and haunting tale by tour DE force horror author, Terry M. West known for A PSYCHOS MEDLEY and WHAT PRICE GORY. Over the years he's laid down some of the best stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading and this one is no exception.

THE GIVING OF THINGS COLD & CURSED follows a young collector named Baker Johnson, a parapsychologist in the year 1925. After the death of Richard Johnson, Baker inherits his uncle's estate and moves into the legendary psychical researcher's home. Upon arrival he soon discovers that the infamous Black Room of the property, the place where haunted items are safely contained, has been emptied. The items in question have a story of their own and if in the hands of mere mortals will cause odd circumstances. A pen an dink quill will make the everyday normal writer spit out some of the most vile tales onto paper fathomable and a normal cookbook will commence a grand dinner that'll quickly make the partaker violently ill.

THE GIVING OF THINGS COLD & CURSED is a silent creeper that gradually crawls under your skin moments after you read it. It doesn't just jump out and throat punch you yet merely gets deep into your psyche and makes you ponder some of those old  objects you've purchased from antique stores over the years. Taken place in the 20s this tale paints an old school picture of naivety and unknown horrors. Now this right here folks is what excellent storytelling looks like. Take a page out of Mr. Wests books and get into the head of someone as warped as mine and you're a keeper.......a must read.
