HELL & BRIMSTONE

HELL & BRIMSTONE is a quick little 22 page tale about a young girl named Brie who lives in a not so desirable area of town. Upon an attempted burglary one night as Brie is on the phone with 911 she's overheard screaming " leave me alone or I'll burn you alive!" As Det. Trey and his colleagues arrive on scene they soon notice that her door is shut and there's a few piles of scorched bodies out in the hallway.

As Trey tries to put the pieces together he and Brie see each other so much, they begin an intimate relationship. Things continue to go well for them until one day Trey is kidnapped and Brie is forced to intervene. Burning all of the kidnappers alive, Brie and Trey discuss that if she can control her curse that maybe she can help him with the criminals that get away. And so they lived happily ever after. Until the day their child was born. Now that's another story.

Yes the fire starter tale was made famous by Mr. King. Others have either tried to duplicate or further the myth. Billie Sue Mosiman chose the later and just took the shell that was already their and added her recipe to create a highly interesting story.

Granted this story only plays out for 22 pages yet Mosiman manages to instill emotion for the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and would have liked to see the story stretched out more but keep the same ending. That was very refreshing. I recommend anyone with a little free time to read HELL & BRIMSTONE. It's a clever little read.
