INDEMNITY

Dir. David Dietz
Last night i set down with my popcorn and other party favors and popped in this little flick i received in the mail called INDEMNITY. INDEMNITY tells the story of A man on the run from his ex-lover, who has sworn to kill him, takes refuge in a rural bar, where he finds an unlikely ally in the local bartender. As the man opens up to the bartender over many rounds, the bartender - who is battling demons of his own - begins to wonder if the man is merely a victim of circumstance... or if he's hiding a much darker secret.
Now I will say at the beginning of this film I was wondering why I got myself into this. Not that the filming was bad , it was the guy playing the bartender. At first he was horrid, almost as if he was reading cue cards then just within a few minutes he polished it up and everything smoothed out. INDEMNITY was a really clever film, let me try to explain a little further. This flick is right around an hour long and the entire time you are listening to this cat(David Dietz) talking about his ex. How she's going to kill him then right as the movie is winding down it sets off. I really enjoyed the wait. Sometimes you dont need to have all the biting and "I must drink your blood" crapola in the film for it to be good. Dietz shows you a really great vampire tale without all the blood and anger. he just basically shows you his visoon with how it should be told, good stroytelling.
INDEMNITY was a highly enjoyable film with minimal , and I mean minimal audio issues, but not enough to take away from the big picture. INDEMNITY is a film I was happy to have seen. From what I understand INDEMNITY can be seen on the Maddy G TV Roku Channels!
