Taking on a genre that's already so overly saturated that people are planning "End of the world" situational survival plans(us included ); video games and as you know, unless your dead, The Walking Dead is one of the best shows ever on television.Well I recently finished reading the short story 3 Fingered Jake and the Traveling Roadshow written by Frank Wales (Purgatory Junction). It would seem if Mr. Wales has decided his balls are big enough to take on this genre and see if he has something to tell me I haven't seen yet. here's the scoop

It seems as if 3 Fingered Jake and the Traveling Roadshow is a standalone tale exploring those of the undead nature that will be featured in the forthcoming novel, DEADHEADS: REVOLUTION (The sequel to DEADHEADS: EVOLUTION)so zombies.... where do you go? As aforementioned most has been explored and thanks to Max Brooks there aren't many questions left. I do have an obligation, however, to tell you the truth on matters that pertain to pure horrific iniquities that may expand the minds of the sick and depraved so it would be a crime for me not to DEMAND that you checkout 3 Fingered Jake and the Traveling Roadshow. As I read this I was also checking out a new flick called INBRED by Alex Chandon (Cradle of Fear) that has similar elements to it, non related just ironically similar given the circumstances. See it seems Mr. Wales has a lot of the same ideas as I do.What the hell are you going to do during a zombie apocalypse?

The majority of the population is dead. No more movies. No more concerts. no more sports...NO MORE HORROR CONVENTIONS...So you have to be prepared to entertain yourself from that point on and Wales has it covered. In 3 Fingered Jake a group have rounded up some of the walkers and Return of the Living Dead 3 tamed them. And with that behind them they set out across the land and do a traveling DEADHEADS carnival. Question is, are these supposed PT Barnum descendants true form or fabricated? You must ask yourself if the original Barnum exhibits were real. At this point of life who would care as long as they were entertained, and Wales and Jake have accomplished that in perfect fashion!

Franklin E. Wales has once again entertained me yet another night as i set and anticipated each page, each move the characters herein would make.Wales tells a story in such a dramatic way that you can mentally and visually put yourself in the story and play out on of the characters. The man is a force not to be reckoned with. look for anything he's published an i guarantee you'll be satisfied. And lastly as if the story itself isn't exhilarating enough if you order this short tale you'll also get the Prologue and opening chapter from the original DEADHEADS: EVOLUTION, featuring artwork by one of the best and one of my personal favorite graphic artists on the planet, Joseph "Jody" Adams!
