Necro Stein - Tell us a little bit about how the comics Frozen Dead came about?

 

Johnny Logan Harley - I was sitting at a coffee shop in AUSTIN TX. back in 1999 drawing a comic book idea I had (never released), when this jock looking guy started looking over my shoulder....naturally I politely asked what the fuck he was looking at

 

Necro Stein - Alright ...fair enough

 

Johnny Logan Harley - His name was Jeff Young...he said he was a cartoonist fot the Daily Texan newspaper....& asked if I wanted to do a comic strip....I told him to fuck off for 3 months. I started getting pissed off, I said "I draw comic books not comic strips!" He asked how many I had done.....I said zero

Johnny Logan Harley - So....I caved in....but being punk rock, I decided to be as crass as I wanted...I swore, I stole other peoples charecters...I even made the charecter my stage name JOHNNY NECRO...& called the comic FROZEN DEAD after a band I was helping to form named after a 1960s zombie flick. By the way....that comic book I never finished....was called NECROPHILIAC but...NECROPHILIAC did get a theme song on my first CD under my old band KILLING INNICENCEJohnny Logan Harley - any hoot.....the paper gave me 50,000 readers a day
