MURDER UNIVERSITY

Every so often a new flick comes out in an overly saturated slasher genre that goes a little more above and beyond the spectrum and surprises. MURDER UNIVERSITY is such the film. The plot follows as so, A series of brutal, cult-like murders are taking place at a New England college. Josh Greene, a shy freshman, is the lone survivor of a series of murders that are reminiscent of a similar string of killings some twenty years prior. As he seeks to uncover the secret behind the attacks, he is joined by Detective Forrester, played miraculously by Michael Thurber who was instrumental in halting the bloodshed before, and his daughter Meg, who had barely escaped being a victim previously.

As stated this genre has been around since the original BLACK XMAS donned the theaters and many and many have followed, most notably the F13 franchise yet MURDER UNIVERSITY adds a little more to the pot. Sure it follows the slasher suit and adds some comedic flair necessary for most of these films to work well yet doesn't over do it like most. Director Richard Griffen brings his expertise behind the camera. Known for FEEDING THE MASSES and RAVING MANIACS he's no stranger to great film making. His films always seem to have excellent cinematography and as in this one he has once again managed to obtain great acting thanks to the performances from Jimmy Default and Michale Thurber

MURDER UNIVERSITY is suspenseful, funny and has just the right amount of blood with great practical old school special effects as to not over saturate the story at hand. Accompany that with an excellent 80s styled soundtrack and you've got a damn fun film. This is just one great popcorn styled film for late night viewing with the buds. As previously mentioned Griffen has yet to helm a crappy movie and this one is far from that.

WILD EYE RELEASING has put out another cool flick. I recommend if you're searching for a fun, well done film to watch MURDER UNIVERSITY is such film.
