Directed by Nick Everhart,

Starring: Leigh Scott and Eliza Swenson.

First off let me warn you that if you are looking for something creepy and/or scary this movie is definitely NOT it. It more runs along the lines of Tales from the Crypt type status. So if you liked that you will LOVE this. At the risk of sounding like a brain-dead female (I promise you will only hear this once out of my mouth) this movie is super cute! Don't let that throw you off or discourage you though. It's very entertaining and has plenty of gore.

The movie itself was written as an anthology consisting of 3 short stories with Penny and her strange little cohorts as a quirky side story (sort of). The acting, in my opinion, was very well done all around as were the sets and wardrobe. I was actually really surprised at how much I was going to like this considering I'm extremely picky about anthology type movies and usually only end up liking one, maybe two stories. But not only did I like all 3 shorts I also enjoyed Pennys silliness as well. So I'm going to break this down into separate sections to give you a better idea of each story.

Let's start off with Penny Dreadfuls first. Her bit stars Eliza Swenson (Penny Dreadful), Collin Galyean (Ned the Zombie), and Dillon Geyselaers (Wolfboy). Apparently Penny and the gang live in an old run down theater and love watching horror flicks surrounded by Pennys bizarrely huge creepy doll collection that she likes to talk to. Penny has been browsing the internet looking for her first true loves kiss and inviting would be suitors to come over and watch movies. Let’s just say it doesn't fare well for the gentlemen callers. Not even a little bit.

"Slash in the Box"

Starring: Elizabeth Masucci (Wife) and Tyler Hollinger (Husband)

This was probably the shortest short of the three. But that's ok, it got its point across. Anyway, "husband" brings home an old jack-in-the-box and he and his "wife" are sitting at the kitchen table and looking at it as he slowly turns the crank on it playing that familiar tune we have all heard a billion times and assuring his wife that it's perfectly normal for grown ass people to have a jack-in-the-box. Besides, it was given to him for free by some creepy lady so what could possibly go wrong? Well splat went his guts. Later the wife comes downstairs looking for her husband and the box starts playing on its own. So like a dummy she stands in the kitchen doorway and waits for it to finish (why do they always do that). Let's just say she wasn't expecting what popped up next!

"The Morning After"

Starring: Ramona Mallory (Jez) and Samantha Soule (Alice) as our main characters.

This was set in the 60's and focuses on Alice who is somewhat of a party girl. Problem is she's starting to lose large tracks of time that she can't remember and thinks she's going crazy. Then a beauty named Jez starts popping up everywhere and Alice just can't resist her and she has no idea why. If Jez tells her "Come with me", Alice just does it. There's a lot of lesbian make out sessions for you pervs (lol) and that's when Jez reveals that she is a vampire and she wants Alice to be with her forever. Things kind of get out of hand from there but then eventually fall into place as Alice accepts her role.

"The Slaughterhouse"

Starring: Brandon Stacy (Jimmy), Devanny Pinn (June), Barry Ratcliffe (Billy Jack), Al Snow (Cody), Kristina Page (Candy), Josh Hammond (Ron), Liz Douglas (Mom), Jeffery Combs (Brady), Alexis Iacono (Nancy) and Sig Haig just being Sid Haig.

The final story is set in the drug fueled free love era of the 70's. A bunch of friends are going on a road trip when their van breaks down and they are stranded in the middle of nowhere in a countryside with a reputation for people going missing and not being found. Along comes a big imposing guy named Cody who looks like he could star as one of the backwoods folk in House of 1000 Corpses. He offers to hitch up the van and tow them to his house to stay until morning, but he warns these young adults that his family is a bit eccentric. They pull up to the house and the first to greet us is his baby sister, Candy, who reminded me a little of Baby (you know who I'm talking about). Well hopefully you kind of get an image in your head by now of how this family appears. But appearances can be deceiving and all hell breaks loose at the dinner table. I'm not going to tell you the rest of it because I want it to be a surprise. Oh, and Sig Haig shows up and crashes the party. Just thought I’d throw that in there .

All in all this was a pretty entertaining flick. I think I may just have to look for it in my local Bargain Bin. As for a rating, it’s a 4 out of 5. Well worth the watch. Just remember not to take it too seriously.
