SAY NO TO DRUGS

Matt Molgaard

A double shot of pure acidic euphoria told in the tradition of vintage drive-in tales, Say No to Drugs serves as a reminder that some cliches are worth paying heed. In The Pot, the first of two tales, terror turns green, while Blue – the double feature’s second tale – should encourage hard drug users to think twice before mixing fatal cocktails. I don't even want to discuss this read. Each and every page was very hard for me to endure as I myself battle drug addiction as we speak. It hasn't been that long since I turned myself in to a county jail for past warrants to rid myself of one more monkey and this was when i was forced to rid myself of the underground lifestyle not many , even my closest friends, knew anything about. I've kept it to myself for so many years now that reading this tale opened so many wounds yet made me fist pump and say" to HELL with you" I kicked the habit.  So without further ado I'll explain just how powerful and exciting this littler piece of hell was for me.

In the first tale we have your typical tough guy douchebag who tires to influence the week, Ray Waltz who in all reality just wants just to get high as he ushered dreaded high school years into a deep crevice designed to bury life’s strangest of moments in the form of neglect and abuse from the every day household activities; never to be revisited again. But Jimmy Hanniger, local weed-man with the strongest herb in town held different designs for Ray and his future. It seems as if he's tired of being ridiculed and picked on regardless of his shortcoming sin life. We should all remember that sometimes our actions as adolescents in high school have serious repercussions and would should all just back off sometimes. In a Jordy Varrell-esque story we really get acquainted with the color green. I've always made comments to people throughout the years that I smoke so much weed that if you cut me i'd bleed green. Author Molgaard nails it right on the head and enforces my feelings as it would seem he;s battles some of the same demons as I...Marijuana scares me now and being clean and sober I AM BIGGER than the addiction. This tale will ensure that it'll be a cold day in hell before i spark up a doobie, per-se....If only Ray had just said no.

In Blue a confused young man must decipher the visual riddles surrounding him. Why are the walls a sudden and mesmerizing blue? Why is there a body sprawled across the floor. And just what is that forcing its way through an ocean of turmoil, bound for dry land; bound for murderous actions? Now I for one can completely vouch for the depictions laid herein this tale as well, sadly. I take this drug on a daily basis for my heart condition and can tell you mixed with alcohol you WILL see blue elephants floating to and fro...You will see some of the oddest things ever and have seriously been on the brink of whether or not I did not know if I was going to make it. Did I already take this? Should I take one just in case? I've unfortunately been on the receiving side of having close friends OD from these and leave me all alone and even today I miss them with all my heart. This is on hell of a tale that tells you exactly what will happen if you become a dumb ass and don't play by the rules....YOU ARE NOT GOD!!

Find out in longtime entertainment journalist, Matt Molgaard’s debut double feature, crafted with the intent of pleasing those who favor the whacky, absurd grindhouse style of yesteryear, and/or just flat out need a savage reminder of their own demons. As I write this I can't keep my stuff together and need to bid you ado. I will go escape in something humorous for the evening and forget my past....." The Lord doesn't care who you were, only what you've become" SAY NO TO DRUGS  is a powerful read that;s not for those of the aforementioned downfalls or demons but thankfully his daugheter tosses in a dope little fantasy tale that cheers up the mood , even for a minute.......scariest thing I've read all year.
