Some of us have been in situations where we’ve acted like we knew all about something that a girl was into and not only knew it but we were the best! Thus is the case with SO MORT IT BE.

Dante has the hots for a classmate of his named Lilith. He’s studied her, he watches what she reads. He’s even had some mad wicked dreams dealing with a little BDSM so he figures “what could it hurt” and musters up the nerve to ask her out.. Buying into his bullshit she invites him to an exclusive party, a séance. Thinking to himself he tells her his uncle is away and that she could use his cabin for it if she wanted to. Ignoring the warnings of her girlfriend she tells Dante she’ll meet him later, even though he may not quite be ready for what he’s about to experience..

As Dante and his buddy Adam search the house for party favors they stumble across some boxes in the basements labeled “Beef 1959” Of course one of them opens a box releasing a pungent stench. Coughing and gagging they run back up stairs to finish up.A bit later some rats feast upon the opened box of beef and get sick. They begin to transform to some semi absurd looking worm like snakes ala Henson style. Throughout the hour the rats transform hideously as guests begin to arrive. When Lilith shows up and sees all the people she feels tricked and begins to unleash her fury. Now Dante will see EXACTALLY what Lilith does after school!!!

Released in 2005 from Brain Damage Films, SO MORT IT BE was a cool film to watch. With minimal flaws in acting and sound areas it plays out nicely in the end. At first glance SO MORT IT BE does seem like high cheese but director Fabian Rush does come out with both barrels firing. Picture a horror –esque Sid and Kroft and you get SO MORT IT BE. All in all it’s not too shabby. Check it out.
