The Sweet Hand of the White rose is one hell of a roller coaster of emotions. Told through flashbacks we are lead to feel the emptiness of Mark as he tries to discover the issues he's mentally going through only to discover and feel saddened even more of the result of the findings he realizes. Saddened yet warmth as there is a serious message within this surrealistic tale. A sad, but true message.

 

Beautifuly shot the only complaint i had was the placement of the body, seems as if it would have been astrung more wildy but other than that this short was brilliant. Racking up achievement after acheivement and awards it shines brightly in this young directors early efforts. Melini has some skills that are gratuitiously shown here as well in his other short THE PUZZLE (which we'll get to later).

 

One could argue that it's just a short. How great can it be? The unique vision and bluntness of the message is all it took. Given a mimimal budget and obvious first hand experiences The Sweet Hand of the White Rose is a beautiful tragedy, wasting no time getting to the point. a great watch. I for one will be eagerly awaiting the next offering from Davide Melini
