Meet the Parkers, a backwoods family in Delaware who make the Amish seem up to date. At first you think they are just one of those old fashioned, God fearing families- until the mother starts coughing up blood and suddenly dies, then the father is in charge of his two young girls, and one little boy After that, you have to keep watching. Although this film is kinda slow going, keep watching, cos it peaks towards the end.

A long time family friend who lost a loved one years ago and who just so happens to be a cop, starts finding bones in the river. Human bones. The family is getting suspicious looks since the mother's untimely death, and during the autopsy the medical examiner found “questionable” findings. The two young girls are made to dress in certain old fashion dresses and are told to read from some old creepy book that was passed down in their family for generations, and they are only to eat a cup of food a day to prepare for a huge feast of sorts. Mind you the girls are not happy with their life style and you tend to feel sorry for them throughout the film.

There were boring dead air times and I wanted to turn the film off, but I didn't and I'm glad I kept watching, because the ending wrapped it all up nicely and very graphically as gory revenge becomes the bittersweet fate of the two cannibalistic deprived girls. The acting was well done, the mood was perfect, it was just a bit slow for my taste (no pun intended).
